You’re as likely to see a homeless man lounging in the shade as you are a hipster mom pushing a double Bob stroller at University Playground.
With a location just a block or so from I-5, the park is a regular resting point for the homeless folks who hold signs at the freeway entrances on 50th. But it’s also has a popular playground for young families and pleasant studying spots for university students.
In addition to the play area, you’ll find a baseball/softball/soccer field, tennis courts and a small walking loop. It’s also one of the city’s pesticide free parks, so it’s great for little ones who want to crawl in the grass.
All the residents of this neighborhood are lucky to have this park to call home.
