If you’ve lived in Seattle for awhile you’ve probably been to a concert at this park without even realizing it’s a park.
During the day, Piers 62 and 63 are a large flat wooden boardwalk and a popular spot for tourists to take pictures of ferries and the islands. But on many summer evenings this nearly two-acre-space is transformed into a cool concert venue for events that are appropriately named Summer Nights at the Pier.
And what better activity for a summer night than listening to live music on a warm night while enjoying views of both downtown and the waterfront?
Even with summer over, Piers 62 and 63 draws visitors. On the day I visited two women were eating their lunch in the sun, a toddler was chasing seagulls, a handful of tourists were pointing out ferry activity and a young couple walking hand-in-hand were stopping every few feet to engage in a make-out session that looked like it was made for the movies.
Whatever your choice of activity, this park is great year-round.
