West Seattle residents and visitors are incredibly lucky to have so much public waterfront access. Most people don’t make it past Alki Beach, but there are many other spots to take in views of the Puget Sound, islands and Olympics if you follow the shoreline south.
Charles Richey Sr. Viewpoint is one of those spots. Situated where Beach Drive S.W. meets 63rd Ave. S.W., this park is a lovely place to picnic in the summer or sit on a bench on a stormy winter day and watch the turbulent water. If you’re a kayaker, you’ll also find a nice spot to launch your boat.
