Fairview Park is one of several dozen locations in Seattle that has p-patch plots open to the public. These mini-gardens are so popular they typically have waitlists that can stretch to five years.
It’s a shame everyone can’t have a nice little garden at Fairview Park. It’s a very setting to be digging up vegetables with a view of Lake Union.
Luckily, we can all enjoy this park even if we can’t reap a bounty from its gardens. What you can do is launch your kayak, have a picnic with a view or climb the stairs from the lower section of the park to the upper section that reaches Eastlake Ave.
Or, you can stretch out on a blanket on the grass and watch other people toiling away.
