If you’re in the Madison Park neighborhood, don’t miss the chance to take your kids to Prentis I. Frazier Park, which has one of my favorite playgrounds.
The park designers were very clever about working with the challenging, hilly topography. Instead of trying to level the nearly half-acre lot, they built the playground to fit right in. Kids can run from the sidewalk onto the upper level of the play structure and then climb down to the rest of the features.
There’s also a basketball hoop and a nice wooded area that shades part of the park in the summer.
Prentis was an African American businessman who passed away in the 50’s and lived just behind the park that was named in his honor.
