Location: Queen Anne
Address: Circles Queen Anne Hill

One of my favorite walking routes in Seattle is circling the top of the “hill” on Queen Anne Boulevard. The quiet residential streets have nice sidewalks making it pretty easy with strollers or even wheelchairs.
Most people flock to the western part of the loop, where you can catch beautiful views of the Puget Sound and Olympics. But, don’t neglect the rest of this route where you’ll see some of Seattle’s oldest and most majestic homes.
Another fun way to explore this area is to let yourself get sidetracked and veer off the boulevard to take one of the almost hidden public staircases. You’ll find dozens of sets of these steps allowing you to climb up and down sections of the hill for different views.
By the way, the all-powerful Seattle Parks Board initially rejected the idea for this boulevard in 1906. Luckily, they relented after pressure from community members. Learn more via the Queen Anne Historical Society.
Here’s a pretty good map of the route.
