When a steep hillside dense with blackberries was developed into a staircase about 10 years ago, walkers and runners got a convenient shortcut between Wallingford Ave. and Gas Works Park. This also makes it much easier for swarms of people to get in and out of the popular Gas Works Park on event days.
The colorful, circular mosaic was done by artists Benson Shaw and Clark Weigman.
