This is one of my favorite newly discovered parks. Soundview Terrace on the western end of Seattle’s Queen Anne neighborhood is perched on a steep hillside. If I had been the park’s engineer, I would have taken one look at the geography of the site and gotten very discouraged.
Instead, this park’s builders figured out a way to create a beautifully landscaped wheelchair- and stroller-accessible park on such an impressive incline that from above you can barely see the park.
I could spend a lot of time taking in the views and peaceful setting from one of Soundview Terrace’s benches, as I’m sure this park’s lucky neighbors do often. Kids will enjoy the play area that also incorporates elements into the hillside. There are plenty of seating areas and picnic tables, which are accessible by neatly laid paths.
