Literally in Northgate Mall’s backyard (sitting right behind Target’s parking garage) is Hubbard Homestead. Originally a homestead in the first half of the last century, this park creates a pleasant space among the very commercial mall area.
Besides a basketball court and several benches, there aren’t many other amenities to this park. But, the interesting drainage system and mysterious concrete spheres are worth checking out.
Hubbard Homestead also has a large flat grass area that would be nice for games, and the park is wheelchair- and stroller-friendly. A very cool skate park is currently on hold, but I’m crossing my fingers it will be moved forward soon.

I believe this used to be the Northgate Transit Center, but when they put in the large apartment/condo development south of Northgate Mall they moved the Transit Center adjacent to that development. So, they pulled out all the concrete/asphalt and built this park. I drive by this several times a week and it doesn’t seem to be all that inviting yet.
