Squeezed in next to the Fauntleroy Ferry Dock, just south of Lincoln Park, is a newly revitalized park with waterfront access.
This little-known park was closed for several years while the Barton Pump Station was upgraded. You can stand on top of part of that station and check out the views of the Puget Sound, Olympic Mountains and Vashon Island. Then take the paved path down to where it meets a sandy waterfront beach. Colorful salmon art along the way by Thomas E. Jay reminds us that salmon spawn in the Fauntleroy Creek nearby.
Cove Park is a narrow stretch of public beach and signs remind visitors that the shore in front of the adjacent homes is off-limits except at extreme low tide, but there’s plenty of space for exploring around the dock and near the water line. It’s also a fun place to watch the ferries come and go.

When was Cove Park created?
Hi Pat,
I believe it was in 2015.
