If you’re looking for a calmer, quieter place to enjoy the beach than the more crowded Madison Park and Madrona Park, plan a visit to Denny Blaine Park.
Denny Blaine is small, but has a very nice piece of waterfront. It’s a great place to have a picnic on the grass under the large old deciduous trees and enjoy views of the Eastside and Cascades. There’s even a small stretch of sand with easy water access for swimming.
If you end up a fan of this quiet little spot, you can thank Charles L. Denny and Elbert F. Blaine, who donated this plot (as well as many others) to the city to create this park.
