Another hub of the Wallingford neighborhood is the Wallingford Playfield. School is letting out for the day as I arrived and a group of 20 kids are carrying what looks like band equipment into the park.
I’m surprised when, instead of tuning up their instruments, they set everything down and start warming up for a game of Frisbee golf instead. Hmmm… some type of combination Frisbee-Band Camp?
The grassy field at this park is perfect for Frisbee and other similar games. The other features include a tennis court and a great playground area that includes draw bridges, multiple slides, a mini climbing wall and separate space for smaller tots. My favorite thing is the rubber pathway that acts as a trampoline when you walk on it. I can’t resist a few bounces as I pass through.
Wallingford Playfield is also wheelchair accessible and has plenty of benches. Good places to stop and take in the Frisbee concert.
