Four young boys and their dads were setting off fireworks next to Roanoke Street Mini Park when I visited today. They must have either had leftovers from New Year’s Eve or they were getting a really early start practicing for their own personal Fourth of July show.
I guess it’s an appropriate place to practice because Eastlake is one of the best places for hosting Fourth of July parties. With so many waterfront parks, the neighborhood has great views of the big Lake Union show.
Although you won’t find any easy shore access (unlike most of the other Eastlake mini parks), this park has a couple of benches to sit and enjoy the lake happenings.
