From Andover Place, walk a few minutes north on foot and you’ll find Cormorant Cove. Of the three mini waterfront parks, this is my favorite.
Not quite as tiny as its sisters, Cormorant Cove has a nice grass lawn and gently sloping path leading down to a wider stretch of beach. Two flat sections serve as patios for enjoying the views. The upper one tells the history of the park in its stones.
The foliage has been carefully planted to match its beach setting, with grasses and succulents catching your eye from the sidewalk. I stopped to marvel at the gorgeous heather plants that are blooming bright pink right now.
The park, which was completed in 2000, is named after the cormorant birds that can be seen hanging around this area.
If you kayak or canoe, this is a great place to launch your boat.
