It’s a great thing for a city when you can find a community garden among high rises condos.

Belltown Cottage Park, just a couple of blocks from the main bustle of Belltown, is a cute little garden with adjacent p-patch. The nicely planted park and cool iron fence cheer up this otherwise drab street.

If you’re wondering what the deal is with the three tiny houses on the property, here’s the scoop.

They are three of the 11 original homes located in this spot from the late 1800s to 1920s. These three survived development and were designated historic landmarks in 2000. Now they are home to writers as part of Richard Hugo House’s Writers-in-Residence program.

Next time you’re walking around the Belltown neighborhood, stop by this little park and p-patch to enjoy a pleasant green space.
