Dakota Place Park makes a handy spot for recess for the small class of elementary schoolers who attend school at the church across the street. A game of dodgeball is underway on the day I visit this cute park on the site of an old West Seattle substation.
The beautiful brick building makes for a great location for photo shoots. Benches that line a circular plaza make it a nice stop on a walk. Kids like climbing on the big boulders tucked among the native plants.
Eventually the inside of the building will be a second location for the Hiawatha Community Center.
