This large park is often mistaken as the upper part of Leschi Park, since the parks’ wooded areas run into each other.
But, Frink Park is its own, and a great way to explore the two parks is to begin at the top of Frink Park near 31st Ave. S. and check out the trail map before choosing your route down into the park. From Frink, work your way toward Leschi using the map and you’ll eventually end up at the waterfront. (For a better map in color visit this site and click on “trail map” on the right side.)
The nicely maintained trails have slivers of a view of Lake Washington through the dense trees. As most of the trees are deciduous, this would be a great place for a fall hike when the leaves are changing colors.
The land for Frink Park was donated by John Frink, a Washington State Senator, in 1907. Here’s a cool picture of what the park looked like in 1911.

Is Frink park public land owned or is it state or federally owned land? And what difference it makes about the ownership when its made open to the public?
Hi Casey — Frink Park is owned by the city and managed by Seattle Parks and Rec. It is open to the public.
