Much of north Seattle is wooded, so it’s easy to miss this big forested park just off I-5 around 130th.
But, what a great asset for this neighborhood that is lacking in large parks with good amenities. And, this one is packed with them: trails, ball fields, kids play area, wading pool and even an off-leash dog park.
The play area and wading pool look a little worn, but both are getting renovated soon. The playground will get new equipment, and a water spray park will replace the wading pool.
Enjoy a walk among the fir trees or a picnic at one of the many picnic tables.

This is our neighborhood park. Since the 3/11 visit they have indeed rebuilt the playgrounds and added one of the best sprayparks in the city. There are two sets of playground equipment, one for toddlers and another for 5+ year olds. The spraypark becomes a basketball court during the winter but during the summer it is quite busy. Here’s a photo of the spraypark during the summer:

The off leash area isn’t the best but if you’re looking for a place to take your kids this is a good park.
Thanks for the updated info! I’m looking forward to coming back in the summer to check it out.
