Cute colorful signposts point the way to various points in West Seattle and beyond at Delridge Playfield, a huge well-maintained park in the Delridge neighborhood.
The playground’s colorful equipment is new and welcoming. Also welcoming for picnics or games of Frisbee are the freshly cut, gently sloping lawns. You’ll find ball fields, a wading pool, basketball courts and the Delridge Community Center here, too.
This park has been around for almost 100 years and has seen some interesting uses. A little bit of trivia according to the city’s site is that part of the playfield was temporarily converted into housing for mill workers during World War II. It was torn down and the community center now sits in its place.
