On the edge of Belltown across the street from Seattle Center and almost underneath the Monorail is where you’ll find the very pleasant Tilikum Place. The statue by James A. Wehn of Chief Sealth draws you in first. Dedicated in 1912, this was Seattle’s first piece of public art.
Park benches and several lovely trees circle the rest of the park. Tilikum Place is easily accessible for strollers and wheelchairs.
Tilikum means “greetings” in Chinook.
