Sometimes what parents with tots under age 5 really need is not the most exciting, state-of-the-art playground to occupy their kids but just a fully enclosed worry-free space. Normandy Park’s cute City Hall Park (attached to City Hall itself) is a great space for letting little ones play while parents can take a seat and enjoy a moment to themselves… maybe.
Enter the small play area that is surrounded by a fence and latch the gate carefully shut. Then, let the kids explore the small playground that includes two climbing structures and a seated merry-go-round that’s friendly for kids of all abilities. Because the area is so small, it’s easy to see kids almost from every spot.
When you’ve worn them out on the playground, let them run on the huge soccer and baseball/softball fields that stretch behind the park. You’ll also find basketball courts behind the City Hall building.
This is a nice park for folks with limited mobility. The short, paved paths are mostly flat and wind alongside the playground back to the ballfields for a short stroll.
