There aren’t many places to take your dog to run around off-leash in downtown Seattle, so I bet dog owners were happy when a dog park was added as part of a renovation of Plymouth Pillars Park a few years ago. What’s confusing is the location of the dog park. It’s actually across Boren Ave. from the rest of Plymouth Pillars Park, so many people miss it completely and give up on exercising their dog.
Look for the sidewalk about halfway down the block toward Pine St. This cheerful corridor is enhanced benches and colorful flowers in oversized containers. The dog park stretches across a long, narrow area and is fully fenced with entrances on opposite sides. It’s a gravel surface with seating inside for owners. Check out a map of the space online and give it a try.
