One of the best secret public plazas in downtown Seattle is accessed from a paved pathway off 5th Ave. Bright green ferns and other native plants burst from their planters, making this feel like a true Northwest oasis. A striking wall of iridescent blue, orange and purple tiles keep things playful and reflect light back into the space.
Continue further west to find a tidy concrete plaza with a square of green grass and a few benches placed nearby. A trio of trees contrast the modern architecture of the Seattle Central Library behind them. This is a lovely place to linger and lunch on a nice day.
Another public plaza is within walking distance.
